Step 1: Opening the Home Screen Edit Sidebar
Make your Kinetic Homepage full screen. Then select the three dots in the upper right-hand corner. This brings a dropdown with Edit as an option. Click Edit.
If you’re working from a standard Homepage Epicor will ask if you want to save a new copy of your homepage. Select Yes.
Step 2: Adding a Widget
A sidebar will open that says, “Add Widget.” The search bar on this sidebar is to find the type of widget you want to add. There are a ton of options from websites to data tracking charts. For most of the screens we use, you will want to select “App Link.”
Step 3: Setting Up “Add an App Link” Widget
Once the Add an App Link Widget window opens, use the App bar to search for your screen. For this demo, I’m looking to add Part Entry. This is a live search field so once you start typing the results will show below and update. Once you have typed the first word or two of the screen, you are looking for go ahead and move your curser to the results window. You can use the scroll wheel to look through the results till you see the desired screen.
Once you have located and selected the desired screen, you can change the title of the Widget in the bar name Title. You can also select if you want it to always open this screen in the company and site you are working in (default) or you can deselect the checkbox and assign a company and site for this widget so it will always open the screen in the selected Company and Site. (circled in blue) This can be done so you always have one widget open the Part Entry screen in Alpena and then have another always open Part Entry in B23 for example. The Add an APP Link Widget window can also be used to select the widget color (circled in red) or even select an image to show on the widget (circled in green) (50kilobytes max).
Once you are done setting up your widget, click the blue “OK” button in the bottom right-hand corner. You will now see your Widget in the first available slot.
Step 4: Add Shortcuts to Epicor Home Screen
You can also add any of our Besser applications or documents to the Epicor Home screen.
Using the Add Widget Sidebar select Local Application or Document.
You will need the file path to the program or document you want to link to the home screen. Once the Local Application or Document window opens, you can add the file path to the “Path” bar. Again, you can also assign a color, title, and image to the widget. For this example, I am adding the Search GUI.
Once you are done setting up your widget, click the blue “OK” button in the bottom right-hand corner. You will now see your Widget in the first available slot.
Step 5: Arranging Your Home Screen
With the Add Widget sidebar still open, simply grab and drag any widgets whose placement you don’t like, to a spot you would prefer.
If there are widgets on your home screen that you don’t want, simply hit the three dots in the top right-hand corner of that widget and select delete.
You can also use this dropdown to edit the widget.
Step 6: Closing the Home Screen Edit Sidebar
Once your home screen has the Epicor Screens you want, you can close out of the Edit Sidebar by selecting the Save Image at the top of the Add Widget sidebar.
If you find you have made too many changes you don’t like and you just want your home screen to go back to the way you had it, just hit the back arrow.
